Hello world!

This is the first post for my new blog. It features a logo that I designed a long, long time ago … actually in the year 2002.

Three students of media technology — Cynthia, Björn and me — were assigned to a so called “Medienproject” on the topic “Extraktion von Tonlängen – und Höheninformationen aus einem Spektrogramm mittels Algorithmen aus der Bildverarbeitung” which translates to “Extraction of of length and pitch of tones from a spectrogram using image processing algorithms”. For five months, we worked quite hard on the problem, yet it just did not work — at all. Blame Markus Cremer for having the idea!

Still, I was hooked and fascinated by audio signal processing. And I am ever since.
